306 SnapWords™ Teaching Cards (SWAENC1)
SnapWords™ sight words are essentials for teaching sight word recognition to a wide variety of learners. But that's not all. Beyond just recognizing the words, the tools on the reverse of the card move children beyond calling out words to comprehension of words and correct usage. The reverse of each card displays the word without a visual and describes a hand motion for the word - a necessary tool for many kinesthetic learners and dyslexic children. In addition, a sentence using the word and coordinating with the visual on the front of the card focuses children's attentions to the meaning of the word and how it is used in everyday communication. These images have proven to be the turning point for children who had not made progress through any other means. Over 300 words, including all the Dolch high frequency words and the Fountas & Pinnell 100 most frequently recurring words. Each card is 5.5” wide by 4.25” tall.

306 SnapWords™ Pocket Chart Cards (SWAENC2)
SnapWords™ Pocket Chart Cards are our most popular product. Use them in centers, for partner review, sentence building or independent practice; the number of ways to use these smaller SnapWords™ is only limited by your imagination and your students' needs. Also effective in pocket charts for sentence-building, sentence or phrase unscramble, or review (students turn the cards to the reverse side as they learn the words through the visuals on the fronts). For children who need to struggle with reading comprehension, these cards provide the answer. Over 300 words on 4.25” by 2.75” cards (just barely smaller than a standard 3" x 5” card).

SnapWords™ Landscapes (SWLS)
If you have limited hall space, consider the space-saving SnapWords™ Landscapes. These are perfect for displaying sight words on bulletin boards, small office walls, cafeteria walls, or wherever you feel a sight word display would reach a large number of children. In the classroom, display landscapes by a writing or sight words independent center, and replace with a higher level landscape as the children demonstrate that they know their words. There are five landscapes, one for each list of SnapWords™ A-E. Minimum size is 24” x 36”.

Sight Words in Sentences (SWIN)
As children acquire a sight word vocabulary, they need to read material that contains the new words so they can practice sight words in the context of a sentence. While many books are created for reviewing sight words, doubtless none are as carefully designed as our Sight Words in Sentences. The book has five colors of pages, each color coordinating with a set of SnapWords™ sight words. Each colored section contains 40 sentences made up of only the sight words in that list. (List A has 40 sentences using only the sight words from List A, etc.). This book is versatile and could become one of your most valuable tools: let your children read with a partner to check that they can read all the words in their list before they read to you for assessment and move on to the next list of sight words. Writing activities using the sight words in each section are included. Another “done-for-you” resource! 200 sentences in all.

Learning sight words becomes easy once children begin to rely on their visual capacities to learn and remember.

In children between the ages of four and seven, the right hemisphere of the brain is developing rapidly, so it is helpful to integrate right brain elements such as images and stories in teaching. Achieving early fluency allows children to focus on phonics strategies that will enable them to read higher level books.
